We've got a cruise in September! Join us for a quick Fall weekend getaway to one of the more picturesque sandy beaches in the San Juans. 

The cruise is planned for just one night, leaving Bellingham early-ish Saturday morning and heading back on Sunday. We'll have a pot-luck in and around the cabin and perhaps a beach fire presuming the burn ban is lifted by then. Anchoring/mooring on either the north or south side of the spit, depending on where the weather is coming from. 

Heading out, the tide will ebbing all morning with favorable currents. Peavine/Obstruction starts flowing east about 11:30, so leaving Bellingham between 7:00 and 8:00 am should get you past Obstruction Island before it pushes too hard against you. It looks like Rosario and Bellingham Channel switch to flood around 1:00 pm-ish, so if you want to leave a little later Saturday morning, you can head south and through Thatcher Pass with little, if any, fight. 

Regardless of when you arrive, spend some time strolling the sandy beach, hiking around the state park, or just lounging on your or a friend's boat. We'll start gathering sometime after 5:00 and plan to be eating at 6:00. Maybe s'mores to follow?
